Meet Our Founder

Danita Allen, CRNP, FNP-C, started her nursing career in 1991. For the first 17 years of her career, she worked as a Charge Nurse, House Supervisor, Hospice Clinical Nurse Supervisor, and Travel Nurse. During this time, she worked daily with patients, department staff, physicians, and hospital administrative staff at all levels of care including Same-Day Surgery Units, Emergency Rooms, Intensive Care Units, and At-Home care. She learned first-hand how all of these roles can work together to optimize patient outcome, and gained the insight to recognize when there is room for improvement. After earning her BS in Nursing, she worked as a Hospital Supervisor and Charge Nurse at one of the largest hospitals in Alabama. In this role, she gained critical experience managing department staffing, employee compliance with hospital policies, documentation of patient census, and monitoring daily patient care responsibilities. With her knowledge as a Charge Nurse and insights as a Hospital Supervisor, she was instrumental in helping hospital administrative staff improve patient outcomes.

Healthcare & Administrative Consultant

In 2013 after earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, she was hired as a Senior Clinical Nurse Consultant through a strategic partnership between a research-based biopharmaceutical company and several healthcare facilities. Here, her focus was to establish relationships and collaborate with key healthcare practitioners and decision-makers at all levels of healthcare systems. She worked to:

  • Implement protocols and initiatives with pull-through in the discharge space;

  • Provide education on drug-specific therapies;

  • Provide non-branded disease-state education;

  • Implement Meds-to-Beds Programs;

  • Implement career development opportunities among team members;

  • Coach and develop new hires in the healthcare and administrative intersection at a regional and territorial level.

It was also in this role where she is discovered her passion for combining holisitc care with administrative practices to not only improve patient outcomes but also increase employee satisfaction. She saw firsthand the importance of streamlined processes, continuing education opportunities, and skills in emotional intelligence that could help reduce burnout and ensure quality care with efficiency.

From Nursing Instructor & Clinical Educator Specialist to Nurse Practitioner

As a consultant, Danita was tasked with bridging gaps between administrative requirements, healthcare-worker realities, and patient needs; this experience gave her a unique perspective for educating, which inspired her to take a position as an Adjunct Clinical Nursing Instructor in 2018. Here, she incorporated evidence-based care into a practice environment, ensuring her students provided high-quality care for patients and their family members. She supervised and evaluated RN and LPN students’ performance and collaborated with department faculty members to create an annual standards-based curriculum. This experience in teaching led Danita back to school herself, and she earned her degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2021.
